Little did I know, my path was about to take a pivotal turn into the podcast space, reshaping my perspective on audio's role in our lives and businesses.

You can imagine my initial shock and dismay when I realized that VoiceCon had little to do with radio.
Instead, it celebrated radio’s up-and-coming digital counterpart — podcasting. Well, I decided I may as well make the best of it, and did I ever learn a lot that weekend.
The most memorable moment that resonated with me was a panel discussion featuring a representative from Diageo, the powerhouse behind many of the top alcohol brands in the US.
During his presentation, he introduced their new “Bartender” app for Amazon's Alexa. It was a tool that provided users with an array of drink recipes on demand.
When someone asked the rep about Diageo's reason for exploring the audio space, his answer was clear.
They believed in their unequivocal right to occupy that space, ensuring their presence in the lives of their consumers, readily available to meet their needs.
